Masschusetts, a high-profile senator
attempted to rescue them.

saw the men having trouble on the
breakwater offshore.

killed one teenager and seriously
injured another man.

yesterday afternoon.

State Police say a 17-year-old
girl was turning off of Brughs Mill
road when a truck, traveling southbound
on Route Eleven-- struck the teen's
car.

The driver of the truck was
64-year-old William Roscoe Rhodes.

Rhodes was airlifted to Roanoke
Memorial.

The teenage girl was taken by
ambulance.

Crews on the scene say the girl
died shortly after she arrived at the
hospital.


Her name has not been released.

Rhodes is listed in good
condition.

killed one teenager and seriously
injured another man.

State Police say a 17-year-old
girl was turning off of Brughs Mill
road when a truck, traveling southbound
on Route Eleven-- struck the teen's
car.

The driver of the truck was
64-year-old William Roscoe Rhodes.

Rhodes was airlifted to Roanoke
Memorial.

The teenage girl was taken by
ambulance.

Crews on the scene say the girl
died shortly after she arrived at the
hospital.

Her name has not been released.

Rhodes is listed in good

ENG#1 An accident in Botetourt County


yesterday afternoon killed one teenager
and seriously injured another man.

State Police say a 17-year-old
girl was turning off of Brughs Mill
road when a truck, traveling southbound
on Route Eleven-- struck the teen's
car. The driver of the truck was
64-year-old William Roscoe Rhodes. At
last report, Rhodes was listed in good
condition.

Police have determined the cause
of Saturday's hayride accident in
Bedford County.

State Police say the pin
connecting the trailer to the tractor
broke.

All but four people managed to
jump from the trailer before it went
down an embankment.
