investigating a single vehicle
accident.
It happened around 2 this morning
on Shadwell and Tinkerview.
Two people were in the vehicle
that ran off the road.
Both were taken to Roanoke
Memorial.
Police are looking into alcohol
as a possible factor and say charges
are pending.

success so far, the same cannot be said
for the completion of their football
stadium.

suites will not be ready in time for
the Boston College game on October
27th.
The university will seat the thousand
or so fans in other parts of the
stadium.
After the B-C game, Lane Stadium will

school seniors graduated this year.
The class of 2005 was the second
class of seniors required to pass SOL
tests to earn their diploma.

tutorials.

Yesterday, Carilion announced
plans to build an athletic club at
Smith Mountain Lake.
Officials say the lake population
has grown to the point where it needs a
full-service fitness and wellness
facility.
The Smith Mountain Athletic Club
will be located inside the Westlake
Town Center.
Construction is set to begin next
year.

Interstate 5-81 is now resting
comfortably at her new home in
Blacksburg.

Virginia Tech Video This 18 pound female cub was
captured in Roanoke last Thursday.
She's now being held on the
Virginia Tech campus by researchers
equipped to handle bears.
The Department of Game and Inland
Fisheries will decide the cub's fate in
the next two weeks.
Game Wardens will either release
her back into the wild or keep her at
Virginia Tech through the winter.
Either way, researchers say she
has about a 60-percent chance of
surviving.

teenager who died in a weekend accident
say she was well- liked, and was always
smiling.

was Sunday afternoon after police say
she pulled out in front of a truck.

Sunday RMH where he was treated and released.
This isn't the first serious
crash at route 11 and Brugh's Mill
Road- a few weeks ago a friend and
co-worker of Sarrah was injured at this
same intersection.
Sass recently graduated from

on a plan to improve the intersection
of Wonju Street and Colonial Avenue.

three options to the public.
Yesterday, council members voted
to endorse the third.
It would widen parts of Colonial
Avenue and restrict left turns to and
from Colonial onto 23rd Street.
V-Dot must now come up with a
detailed plan and present it to the
public for comment before making a
final decision on whether to implement
the option.

hospital after a weekend hayride
accident in Bedford County.

Saturday A group of close friends and
their families were enjoying a Fall
tradition, and the trip was nearing its
end, when the tractor and wagon began
climbing a hill.
A pin that held the two together
failed, and the wagon began rolling
backwards.
The host of the hayride, Mike
Taylor, was driving the tractor when
the wagon broke loose.

TO GET OFF AND I DID TOO AND HE WAS
ACTUALLY GRABBING CHILDREN AND HE GOT
ALL OF THE CHILDREN OFF AND MOST OF THE
ADULTS.

Taylor says he's still struggling
with the fact that friends and family
were hurt, but he's been told that
everyone will recover from their
injuries.
And for that, he says, he is very
thankful.
