say it was old- fashioned detective
work combined with high tech analysis
that brought an arrest three years
after the murder of Stephanie Bennett.

The Rocky Mount native and

Roanoke College graduate was killed in
her Raleigh Apartment in May of 2002.
Yesterday, Police in Raleigh charged
Drew Edward Planten with the crime.

coming to Rockbridge County.

Along Florida's gulf coast...officials
and residents are calling it a

"wait and see" day.

Everyone knows Wilma is on the
way...but no one knows for certain...

EXACTLY where and when this powerful
hurricane will hit. One computer

model actually shows Wilma missing the
peninsula entirely.

Forecasters say Wilma is one of the
more perplexing hurricanes of the

season. At one point, it was the
Atlantic's most intense storm

ever...but now it has slowed and lost
some steam.

That's little consolation for residents
who need to prepare no matter

how much power Wilma packs. After 4
hurricanes in this state last

year, Floridians know first hand how
bad things can get.

Hurricane Charley ripped through the
town of Punta Gorda last year...and

many are still repairing damage from
that storm...and hoping Wilma heads

somewhere else.

"We are waiting and watching, people

Right now mandatory evacuations are on
hold in the Florida Keys and

point north...but that can change...and
change fast as forecasters work

around the clock to pinpoint where and

Baghdad's youngest were hit this
morning.... when a mortar slammed into

this school while children were in
class.

pieces of the ceiling that collapsed.
The blast killed at least one

child and two guards... five kids were

a direct hit could have been

The killing continued in northern Iraq
- as another explosion rocked a

government building in Baquoba.

Seeing Saddam on trial has done little
to stem the insurgency...and in

some areas, like his hometown of
Tikrit, his defiance has even rallied

popular support.

But others, convinced of Saddam's
guilt, wonder why he hasn't ALREADY

been executed.

Why did they defer the trial? He says,
and on what basis did they

postpone the trial for two months?"

Election officials hope the tally for
last weekend's referendum might be

in sometime tomorrow.

The Saddam trial, and the constitution
