cause of a small fire this evening at
V-M-I.
Officials say the fire broke out
shortly before five during renovation
work to the school's dining hall.
No one was injured and the fire did
NOT cause any structural damage.
The school's traditional "evening
meal," however, was delayed until all
of the smoke cleared.

Pulaski County tonight for a jail
escapee.
This morning 30 year old Timothy
Allen Sarver was transported to the
courthouse along with 11 other inmates
from the New River Valley Regional
Jail.
He was last seen in the downtown
area wearing a light colored shirt.
He's a white man, 6-feet-2 with
short redish hair.
Sarver was in jail on bad checks
charges and had been involved in a
burglary.

Corporation Commission for a fuel rate

are teaming up to help a department
devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

A flatbed loaded with a fire
truck and ambulance headed to Hancock,
Mississippi this morning.
The fire and rescue department
there was gutted when Katrina hit the
Gulf Coast.
So, Botetourt donated the two
vehicles that had been rotated out of
service and weren't being used.
