resort in October.

only half of the city's schools met
state accreditation standards.

Roanoke based Varney Incorporated
is suing lead contractor Turner
Construction Company for 3 and a half
million dollars.

Varney says it hasn't been paid
for work done in August and is seeking
damages for all the project delays.

Six Roanoke firefighters set out
for hurricane-ravaged Florida today.

The men will help establish an
emergency operations center in Moore
Haven.

Though the power is out and the
area has been devastated by high wind
and flood waters, the men hope they're
prepared for anything and everything.

They're scheduled to remain in
the South-Central Florida area for
about 18 days.
