for a Montgomery County murder was
denied bond this morning.

accused of first degree murder and
robbery in the death of 57 year old
Estel Singleton.
*CG locator Montgomery Co. Police say Pritchett robbed and April 1997 killed Singleton at the Ironto Rest :07 stop back in 1997.

He was originally convicted of
the crime, but that verdict was tossed
out by the Virginia Supreme Court.

Last month a mis-trial was
declared after a jury deadlocked.

Pritchett's third trial will be
held next year.

GRAPHIC=Accident A runaway car crashed into two


Roanoke homes this morning, causing
some 35-thousand dollars in damage.

66 year old Gloria Hammer of
Vinton lost control of her Ford Escape
and crashed it into a house on Craig
Robertson Road.

Authorities say she was backing
into a driveway in the 1300 block of
Gillete Avenue. Her S-U-V went over a
5 foot wall, hit the side of one house,
traveled down a few stairs and crossed
two yards before crashing into another
home's basement.


No one was injured.

Hammer was charged with failure
to maintain control of the vehicle.

it does NOT want a Mead Westvaco
distribution center built there.

But a group of regional leaders
will decide the center's future.

has been named honorary co-chair for
the new Virginia Museum of Natural
History's fundraising campaign.

Officials say the five million
dollar campaign will help support the
museum's world-class exhibits.

So far, the campaign has raised
about one and a quarter million
dollars.

Construction is scheduled to be
completed by early next year.

The museum's expected to open to
the public by January 2007.
