The board is sending information
to council that favors smaller stadiums
at each of the high schools, and
estimates the cost of building both at

has filed a lawsuit against the
apartment complex where his daughter
was murdered.

Bennett and his attorney claim
the conditions at the apartment were

her apartment at night, raped her and
killed her.
Drew Planten of Raleigh was
arrested last week and charged with
first degree murder.

Roanoke County auto accident in June is
suing the Roanoke County police chief
and an officer.
Joyce Hawthorne was killed when
officer Timothy VanMarter crashed into
her S-U-V on Chaparral Drive.
Witnesses said the officer was
driving fast and did not use his
emergency lights.
A special prosecutor said the
officer followed proper procedures.
The family is suing Chief
Lavinder and Officer VanMarter for
negligence, breach of duty and
violating traffic laws.
The family seeks ten-million
dollars in damages.

is racking up more jail time in another
city.

from April 2003.
In June, Bond was convicted in a
Salem courtroom for the same offense.

A spokeswoman there says Bond
received just under two-years to serve
for that violation.

teams of volunteers to help a community
in Mississippi devastated by Hurricane
Katrina.

has filed a lawsuit against the
apartment complex where his daughter
was murdered.

Carmon Bennett filed a suit
against the Bridgeport Apartments in
Raleigh, North Carolina.
Bennett and his attorney claim
the conditions at the apartment were
unsafe.
They say the exterior lighting
was poor, and one of Stephanie's
windows didn't lock.
Police say a man entered through
her apartment at night, raped her and
killed her.
Drew Planten of Raleigh was
arrested last week and charged with
first degree murder.

started over cocaine.

arrested Wednesday's afternoon after
failing to stop for police and leading
them on a high speed pursuit.
Police say Keeling was a subject
of an on-going drug investigation.
He's been charged with possession
of cocaine with intent to distribute.
The 39- year old was also charged
with eluding police and obstruction of
justice.
