Sherman Lea wanted to get across about
the WVEC.

As the St. Paul Tigers and the
Shaw University Bears took to the
field, the fans slowly began to trickle
in.

In the last week, there's been
question as to whether reports by News
7 that team representatives were not
made aware of the condition of Victory
Stadium would affect the turnout at the
game.

Lea says that has since been
resolved.

an endorsement from the Virginia Police
Benevolent Association this week.

The group cited Byrne's public
safety record and promise to put 100-
thousand new cops on the streets.

But, the group can only endorse
candidates who go through its screening
process and Byrne's opponent, Bill
Bolling, never showed up.

Byrne says Bolling's vote against
last year's one-point-four billion
dollar tax package proves he's not
willing to invest in public safety.
