Over the years, there have been
plenty of twists and turns in the
Victory Stadium debate.

The latest is a growing movement to

build separate stadiums at Patrick

Roanoke's school board supports that
idea and told city council just that
during a joint session.

Jim Keyes evacuated New Orleans
before the storm hit, but left his cat
Topaz behind.

For several weeks, he wondered if
his furry little friend had
survived....and he did.

Jim's doctor was able to
backtrack the cat's whereabouts from
Louisiana to Michigan.

The A-S-P-C-A flew Topaz to
Roanoke for free.

Last night, Jim Keyes and Topaz
saw each other for the first time in
more than two months.

GRAPHIC=TECH/MIAMI The countdown to the showdown in

the Burg is on.

And if you're a Tech fan you have
to be a little nervous.

The Hokies not only are favored,
but for the first time all season
they've allowed themselves to not only
talk about the BCS, but look ahead.

However, Darryl Tapp says while
the Hokies have owned the Canes of late
- Tech still needs a win this Saturday
to continue gaining on them.

OQ=...REALLY FANTASTIC << This week's edition of Sports
(END SOT) Illustrated features a four page

article on the Hokies complete with a
full page picture of Marcus Vick with
the accompanying headline - Like Mike -
Maybe Better.

As a passer is appears that the
so called experts may have a point.

As a runner and scrambler -
Marcus isn't there yet.

And as a pitch man - he'll have
to wait until he turns Pro to get in
Michael's league.

Last year with the help of Vick's
image and name on product lines like
the Legends of Lane more than $27
million dollars worth of Tech stuff was
sold with the University raking in over
a million in royalties.

The hottest thing for the young
demographic which includes potential
recruits is this limited edition Zoom
Vick Three show from Nike.

BITE OF LOCKE

The limited edition shoe was
unveiled at Underground Atlanta last
month and sold out in one day.

For bookkeeping purposes Tech
isn't making a penny of the use of its
logo this time - but don't think for a
minute it isn't cashing in on the shoe.
