(END SOT) It's no secret that Brian

Wishneff wants Victory Stadium
renovated.

That's why it's no surprise that
Wishneff was upset when he discovered
Mayor Harris supported new stadiums
built at each of Roanoke's two high
schools.

SOT FULL SOT FULL

WISHNEFF:THE PROBLEM IS YOU GOT A GROUP
OF PEOPLE ON CITY COUNCIL THAT DON'T
WANT TO EAT CROW, THEY DON'T WANT TO
ADMIT THAT THEY WERE WRONG.

RUN:09 (END SOT)

OQ= Wishneff says just last October

the Mayor wrote an e-mail stating that
he was "Personally opposed to this
idea."

Then Friday night Wishneff
received this email in which the Mayor
says "Our city would be best served by
stadia at the high schools."

The Mayor does give reasons for
changing his mind including delivering
the best product for the taxpayers
money, and better meeting the present
and future needs of city schools.

Wishneff believes something

different.

THE TRUTH HE DOES ONE OF TWO THINGS. HE

OQ= Wishneff also says separate

stadiums at the city's two high schools
is simply a way out.

OTHER FOUR MEMBERS OF COUNCIL ARE SO
