a neighbor's fountain in Pittsylvania
County.

Around 9:45, deputies and E-M-Ts
responded to this home on Railroad Lane
off Route 29.
That's where a small child had
been floating in a small yard pond in
about a foot of water.
The child apparently had left his
grandmother's home and wandered into a
neighbor's yard.
Emergency crews administered C-P-R
and got the child breathing again ...
he was later flown to the U-V-A Medical
Center.
No others details have been
released.

prescription coverage can begin as

Even if a senior is not currently
taking any medications, the LOA still
recommends signing up for at least one
of the cheaper plans.
People who sign up late, could face
a 1% increase in their premiums for
every month they failed to enroll.
That could add up to 12 percent a
year.
The cost for coverage can range
anywhere from about 8 to 70 dollars a
month. But seniors with limited income
and resources may be able to qualify
for additional assistance.

West Virginia continues to pick
up a spot or two each week, and Notre
Dame is now 11th. That is significant

for selection by one of college
football's four big-dollar bowl games.

Bobby Labonte announced today
that he is leaving Joe Gibbs Racing
after 11 seasons with the team.
Labonte won 21 races and the 2000
Winston Cup Championship while driving
for Gibbs.

heading to Petty Enterprises.

:00 Pete Rose Jr., the son of
baseball's all-time hits leader,
pleaded guilty today to charges that he
distributed GBL to his minor league
teammates. GBL is a drug sometimes
sold as a steroid alternative. The 35
year old Rose could be sentenced to 24
months in federal prison and fined up
to $1 million under terms of his deal
with prosecution. His sentencing
hearing is set for February 20th.

the international space station are
walking in space.

VO-NAT :27 They're installing a camera to
help future space station astronauts as
they add new segments to the outpost.
They'll also discard a probe that
monitors the outside environment.
The spacewalk was delayed for about an
hour because the airlock
failed to depressurize.
It's the first time the airlock
on the American side has been used in
more than two years.
When astronaut William McArthur
opened the hatch to begin the
spacewalk, he said, "Oh it's gorgeous."
