hospital after an early morning
shooting in Danville.

Around 2:30, rescue crews
responded to a call at 147 Levelton
Street Apartment 2- D for a person not
breathing.

When they got there, they found
a man who had been shot.

The victim is listed in critical
condition at Danville Regional Medical
Center.

Police are investigating.

Roanoke Police say 69 year-old
Phillip Puckett failed to stop before
he pulled out of the Food Lion parking
lot.

Police say he was hit by
39-year-old Andrew Morgan of Roanoke
yesterday afternoon.

Morgan's car pushed Puckett's
truck into the river.

Morgan was treated and released
at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Puckett was NOT injured -- but
was charged with failure to stop or
yield.

The Army's 2005 Christmas Angel

Tree is now back inside the Valley View
Mall.

Representatives say the Salvation
Army is proud to offer such a large
scale program that will serve the
underprivileged children in the greater
Roanoke Valley.

The purpose of the Angel tree is
to provide children with gifts of toys,
clothes, and love.

The Angel Tree assisted more than
45-hundred children last year, and
organizers hope they can help thousands
more this Christmas season.

determine what happened to a Virginia
Tech Freshman.

Students living on Christine
Court in Blacksburg woke up to a crime
scene and detectives knocking on their
door.

Around two Saturday morning
Blacksburg Police airlifted 18-year old
Brian Joseph McCloskey, a freshman at
Virginia Tech to Roanoke Memorial with
major head injuries.

Investigators still don't know
whether McCloskey was severely beaten,
or if he was victim of a a hit and run.

But the more they investigate,
the more they believe this could be an

assault case

Students in the area say finding
someone who knows McCloskey shouldn't
be to difficult, especially since he
lived on campus.

Bradberry says at last check,
McCloskey was still in critical
condition at the hospital.

He says there were two parties in
the area the night McCloskey was found.

But, nobody seems to have heard
or seen anything.

Investigators are asking anybody
who either knows McCloskey or knows
what happened to him this weekend to
call the Blacksburg Police Department.
