Leland Mitchell, the
candidate opposed to the airport, wins
by just 24 votes over Page Matherly, a
candidate who favored the plan.

spilled over into the school board race
in Bedford County.
Gary Hostutler was the
winner there.
He supported a new Jefferson
Forest High School.
His opponent Phil Theissen
wanted to renovate the current school.
