reporting a steady turnout, close to
what it was four years ago.

That's about 13 percent of those

a shooting.
Authorities were called to Lamar
Street around 11 last night.
When they arrived, they found a
woman with gun shots to the upper right
arm and right leg.
She was taken to Danville
Regional Medical Center and is being
treated for non-life threating
injuries.
An unoccupied vehicle was also
hit by gunfire on Lamar Street.

board crashed this morning in
Manchester, New Hampshire in back of a
Wal-Mart store.

carry the pilot away from the wreckage.
Eyewitnesses say the twin-engine turbo
prop circled several times before
approaching the Manchester airport. The
plane then struck the eastern corner of
the Wal-Mart.
The store was evacuated. There are
no known injuries on the ground. It is
not known if the pilot was badly
injured.

And last night, riots were reported in

The police, looking for some sign this
is coming to an end declared the
peak had passed.

But rioters have found new
targets...public buildings, symbols of

The state is going to let APCO
charge customers 8-percent more for
power, starting in January.
The rate increase will add more
than three-dollars and 60-cents to the
monthly bill of a typical homeowner.
The State Corporation Commission

GRAPHIC=Nextel Cup Ricky Rudd is throwing in the
towel after 31 seasons.

VO-NAT The veteran driver announced
today that he is retiring from Nextel
Cup racing at the end of this season.
The 49 year old driver says he
still has "the desire and ability to
win races, but a little burnout is
beginning to set in."
Rudd made his NASCAR debut in
1975 and completed his first full
season two years later, winning rookie
of the year honors in 1977.
He has 23 career victories and
finished a career-best fourth in the
standings in 2001 and 2002.
He also holds NASCAR's record for
consecutive starts with 786, a streak
that began in 1981.

against Boston University on November
