Car burnings plunged last night--
police say about 600 vehicles burned--
down from the previous two nights.

Looters and vandals have still

defied a state of emergency with
attacks on stores, a newspaper
warehouse, and a subway station.

The riots have spurred debate in
France over its apparent failure to
integrate Arab and African immigrants.

The puppy was born five days ago in
California.

There's nothing medically wrong with
him, he's just green.

The dog's owner says he's mystified
by the color.

Veterinarians say it's possible for
a newborn puppy's fur to be green,
because the placenta rubs off at birth.

But some skeptics say it could be a
dye job.

Either way, the owner's already
chosen a name to reflect the dog's
unusual color-- Wasabi-- the name of
that spicy green mustard you put on
sushi.
