GRAPHIC=Shooting Giles County investigators now have an
arrest warrant charging 33 year old
Timothy Wayne Simpkins with attempted
capital murder. This comes as the
search for Simpkins continues.

Sheriff's Deputies believe Simpkins
shot a man and woman yesterday outside
this house in the Staffordsville
section of the county.
Authorities say Simpkins hid out in
woods near the house for several hours,
waiting for the victims to come home
before firing.
The shooter, who was wearing
camouflage, was then spotted running
into the woods.
News-7 learned today that a woman named
Mary Simpkins took out a protective
order against Wayne Simpkins in July.
The search for Wayne Simpkins has so
far turned up nothing.

Kingsport, Tennessee yesterday morning.
Police say he then raped a
woman at knifepoint.

doesn't have enough evidence to pursue
perjury charges against Major League
baseball player Rafael Palmeiro.

March Back in March, Palmeiro testified
under oath to a House panel,
and said he had never used steroids.
Weeks later, he failed a drug
test, and in August, he was suspended
for ten days.
In its report, the House Government
Reform Committee says there
isn't enough evidence to prove that
Palmeiro was lying. But it says
it's making no "further determinations"
about the accuracy of
what Palmeiro and others told the
committee.

about--

The semi was carrying pigs, when it
wrecked about 60 miles southwest of
Chicago.
Extra help had to be brought in
with a corral to move the pigs from the
overturned turck and into another
trailer.
But of course-- not all of the pigs
wanted to cooperate.
One broke through the corral before
two men managed to push it back.
Authorities aren't yet saying what
might have caused the wreck.
