early Saturday morning near townhomes
on Christine Court- about a mile from
campus.

McCloskey was unconcious on a paved
trail with severe injuries to the head
and upper body.

Tonight friends who grew up with

OQ=a long healing process. << Officer Courtney Dickerson was


headed to an alarm call around 11:30
Thursday night when his cruiser came
through this sharp curve on Halifax
Road.

But instead of bearing to the
left, Dickerson's car continued
straight, clipped a telephone pole and
crashed into the brick steps of the
Pleasant View Baptist Church.

Dickerson ... who apparently was
not wearing a seatbelt ... was thrown
from the vehicle and died about a half
later at the hospital.

across the four-lane highway with the
cab in the median, the trailer blocking
the west-bound lanes.

The driver of the red Chevrolet
must not have seen the trailer- -or for
some reason failed to slow down before
hitting it.

Eighty-six year old John Michael
Dockendorf of Troutville was taken to
the hospital in serious condition.

220.

Troopers say the driver of an
S-U-V pulled out from a side road and
was hit by the red wagon.

Officials say the driver of the
wagon was taken to the hospital with
NON-life threatening injuries.

the empty plant that was being
remodeled.

military memorial was unveiled.

The new six-foot marble memorial
bears the names of Franklin County men
and women who died while serving.
