in Virginia, especially those in rural
areas are now at a high risk for forest
fires.

Department of Forestry is targeting
those who *intentionally* set fires.
The department is now offering a
reward to anyone with information about
the recent arson fires in Scott County.
One recently destroyed a large
hay barn.

injured several people tonight in the
Cloverdale area.

At least three cars were involved
and eight people were injured,
inlcuding four children.
The conditions of the injured are
unknown at this time.

GRAPHIC=Accident A West Virginia man was airlifted
to the hospital this afternoon after
being thrown from his truck.

Officials say 41-year-old *Carl
McDonie* was pulling a trailer along
route 460 in the Rich Creek area --
when the trailer began to fish-tail.
Police say McDonie swerved his
truck to the right.
He was then thrown from the truck
when his driver's side door came open.
McDonie suffered road-rash over
three-quarter's of his body and had
multiple broken bones.
But he is said to be in good
condition tonight.

a man who may have robbed two stores
yesterday.

A store employee says a man
wearing a red flannel shirt, jeans and
a white stocking cap pulled over his
face --robbed the Apple Market on
Timberlake Road at knife point.
A short time later, police say
the same man attempted to break into
the Miles Market Convenience Store.

windmills in Highland County is asking
the State Corporation Commission to
approve the project by March 1st.

Development* has asked for a speedy
review that would include written
comments from experts, but no public
hearing on the 400-foot-tall windmills.
Highland County's Board of
Supervisors approved the 60
million-dollar project in July.
A *S-C-C* spokesman says it's
impossible to predict how long the
review will last, because the state has
never considered a windmill project
before.
Supporters say the project would
provide tax dollars to the rural
county.
Opponents say the windmills could
kill bird and bats and harm scenic
views.

SEVERAL PEOPLE WERE WARNED JUST MINUTES
BEFORE THE TWISTER TORE THROUGH TOWN.

the basement now. And we went, we were
watching our little grandson and we
took him and we went down to the

stuff flying around."

15th riot reveal some of the tense
moments first responders encountered.
More than 100-people were arrested --
on charges ranging from assault to
vandalism.
Twelve police officers were also
injured, including one who suffered a
concussion when struck by a flying
brick.
The riot was sparked by the presence of
members of the National Socialist
Movement -- a Neo-Nazi group based here
in Roanoke.

issued an Amber Alert for a 14-year old
girl.

Kara Beth Borden is missing after
her parents were killed in their home
this morning in the town of *Lititz.*
Authorities are searching for her
18-year-old boyfriend, who reportedly
abducted her at gunpoint.
Michael and Cathryn Borden were
found shot to death.
Police say the couple's
nine-year-old son fled to a neighbor's
house to call 9-1-1.
A neighbor says the family knew
the 18-year-old suspect, identified by
police as David Ludwig.

pulled from a plane that crashed in
Wisconsin last night.

The single-engine plane was
dangling nose down in utility wires
about ten feet off the ground -- when
police were called to the scene.
The pilot was taken to a local
hospital but his condition is not
known.
There were no other passengers on
the plane.
