outside this home in Giles County, that
eventually led to a manhunt last week
is looking more like a love triangle
gone bad.

According to a search warrant affidavit
Timothy Wayne Simpkins told his
girlfriend, Melissa McDaniels, he was
going to kill his wife and her
boyfriend.

McDaniels has since been arrested and
charged with conspiracy to commit
murder, though investigators have not
said how she may have been involved.

Simpkins home in Christiansburg has

investigators officially ruled the
deaths of two well known activists a
murder-suicide.

November 2004 It was a year ago this week,
deputies discovered the burning home of
44 year old Sue Daniels.
According to the final report, 40
year old Niklan Jones killed Daniels
set fire to her home, and then stabbed
himself to death in nearby woods.
Investigators believe the pair
had a romantic relationship that
Daniels eventually ended.
The official investigation is
wrapping up this week.
The sheriff's office does not
believe anyone else was involved in the
crime.

Christiansburg teen accused of shooting
another teenager has been delayed.

June 2004 18 year old Zachary Linkous is
charged with first degree murder in the
death of 15 year old Edward Bertrand.
Bertrand was shot in the stomach
in the garage of a home on Spruce
Street.
Linkous says the gun went off
accidentally.

delay.
A new trial date will be set in
January.
