GRAPHIC=i-81 Accident A deer caused a chain-reaction
accident on Interstate 81 and tied up
traffic for more than hour.

It happened around seven o-clock
near the Dixie Caverns exit in Roanoke
County.
According to State Police, the
driver of this Suburban was northbound
when he ran into a car that had stopped
on the side of the interstate.
That car had hit a deer and
pulled over to check the damage.
The two women in the car were
injured.
One was flown to Roanoke Memorial
Hospital.
Their conditions are unknown at
this time.
The driver of the S-U-V, David
White of Raleigh, North Carolina, has
been charged with reckless driving.

year.
More than a million deer will
have collided with cars on the nation's
highways before this year is out.
There are only six states where
motorists are more likely than those in
Virginia to hit a deer on the highway.

Marina wanted to build two six-story

asking questions.
It says their doctor may no longer
be in the Anthem network.

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia as
of January 1st.
The letter also states that if an

coming for patrons of the Roanoke Civic
Center.

liquor license to serve beer and wine
during certain events.
But members of the group
Concerned Christians of the Valley have
taken the issue to Circuit Court saying
the Commonwealth violated the law by
giving the facility a license to begin
with.
A judge ruled today the group has
to officially notify the city of
Roanoke-which owns the Civic Center.
It has until December 27th to do
so.

the death of a Virginia Tech student is
now complete.

McCloskey died from blunt force
injuries... that is: a crushing blow to
the head.

November 5 found lying unconscious on a jogging
trail about a mile from campus.
He died last Thursday, and police
are treating his death as a homicide.

show "This Is Your Life" has died.

VO-NAT :30 His publicist says Ralph Edwards
died of heart failure at the age of 92.
Edwards first hit it big in radio
in 1940 with "Truth or Consequences."
The show was such a hit that it
made the changeover to TV in 1941.
"This Is Your Life" also began on
radio but then migrated to television.
It ran on N-B-C T-V from 1952 to
1961.
Just last week, it was announced
that Regis Philbin will host a new
version of the show.

new season this Friday night at the
Roanoke Civic Center.
Tonight - the team played its
only exhibition game of the preseason
against Fayetteville.
