the midwest. Tuesday's storms
come less than 2 weeks after a twister
ripped through an area near

from blunt force injuries.

jogging trail about a mile from campus.

220-thousand 2005 vehicles because of
problems involving battery cables and
fuel tank straps.

more than 98-thousand Ford Crown
Victoria, Lincoln Town Car and Mercury
Grand Marquis sedans.
Ford says chafing of the cable
exposed wires to the vehicle frame
causing the frame to become electrified
in some cases.
The problem carries the potential
for heat damage or fires.
Also, more than 123-thousand Ford
Freestyle crossover vehicles, Ford Five
Hundred sedans and Mercury Montegos are
being recalled.
There are concerns that fuel tank
straps can separate after 100-thousand
miles of use and cause the fuel tank to
drop.
There are no reported injuries
tied to either recall.

Johnny Newman was sentenced to 60 days
in jail and fined $500 for assaulting
his wife.

convicted of domestic assault and
battery in Henrico County Circuit
Court, but his jail term was suspended.
Dawnn Lewis Newman, 45, who is an
actress who appeared in the TV show
Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, said that
Newman attacked her September 3rd in
his suburban Richmond home. She said
Newman grabbed her by the throat,
threatened to kill her and dragged her
down a set of stairs by her legs.
Newman's attorney says there is
no merit to the claim. An appeal is
scheduled January 11th.
