home on Tulip Street around 5 o'clock
yesterday evening.

Flames had broken through an
upstairs window and the blaze quickly
spread to the rest of the two-story
building.

It took fire crews more than half
an hour to bring it under control.

An elderly man suffered slight
burns to his hand while escaping the
house.

The cause is under investigation.

A faulty chimney may be to blame
for a fire that damaged a home near
downtown Bedford yesterday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to 651
Orange Street around 2:15 after the
homeowner reported his house was on
fire.

The blaze had started in the
chimney and spread into the attic ...
it took about 15 minutes to bring under
control.

Much of the second floor was also
damaged by smoke, water and fire.

The residents were able to get
out of the house unharmed.

around noon yesterday.

Luckily, a resident came home for

Four people are accused of
writing or witnessing the message.

Two of them are students and

Governor Warner felt it was the

elderly Lynchburg couple.

Firefighters were called to this
home on Tulip Street around 5 o'clock
yesterday evening.

Flames had broken through an
upstairs window and the blaze quickly
spread to the rest of the two-story
building.

It took fire crews more than half
an hour to bring it under control.

An elderly man suffered slight
burns to his hand while escaping the
house.

The cause is under investigation.
