Breaking news from Bedford County,
where skeletal remains were found in a
farmer's field near Montvale.

VO-NAT The sheriff's department responded to a
++HOLD SUPER THROUGHOUT STORY** phone call staying the remains were
discovered in a cow pasture off Old
Terminal Road.
Officials cannot determine if the
remains are those of a man or woman, or
whether foul play was involved. But
authorities are still working on what
they call an "active crime scene" at
this hour.
The remains have been sent to the state
crime lab for analysis.

discovered a body near a burning house
this morning.

Investigators say the body of a 49
year old man was found in a garage
behind the house on Route 40 about
seven mile west of Ferrum.
They are calling the man's death a
suicide. He died of a self inflicted
gunshot wound to the head. His name
has not been released.
The man lived behind the burning
house which was formerly owned by his
late parents.
The home was destroyed.
Investigators say the cause of the fire
is very suspicious.

influenza experts like Dr. Jeanne
Santoli at the CDC, are alarmed when
there is not enough vaccine to meet the
demand.
