morning on Interstate- 95.

The fire's out, but the highway is

Nobody was hurt.

Elsewhere, winter weather could wreak

For drivers hoping to get an early
start on the holiday weekend...this

tanker truck fire north of Washington,
D.C. could not have come at worse

time.

I-95 was a virtual parking lot for
holiday travelers and commuters after

the truck... loaded with almost 9000
gallons of gasoline.. exploded.

Officials say it will likely be early
afternoon before the debris is

removed and the road is resurfaced.

"Just avoid this area and get as far
west or east of here as you

possibly can."

(natz airport)

At the airports, the situation is
better, but in some places, not much.

Early this morning...travelers at New
York's LaGuardia Airport waited

an hour to check their bags and another
hour to get past security.

sot: ???

(Weber bridge)

And as the day progresses...the lines
could get even longer. There's

nasty weather in the Great Lakes area
that's heading east and could

cause a ripple effect of delays felt
nationwide.

sot: Michael Boyd/Aviation Consultant

"The problem is, it just seems bad
weather always comes just before

Thanksgiving and just before
Christmas."

Forecasters say a foot of snow could
fall around Cleveland. Indiana

and Michigan are also expecting
significant snow.

That could prove treacherous for the
More than 37 million people

expected to travel this weekend.

And while planes are packed....most
travelers will be on the roads.

drivers are seeing a recent break in
gas prices. but they're still

about a quarter more a gallon than last
year.

officially announced yesterday that it
will take an ACC team to fill one side
