Earlier tonight, an accident on
Interstate 81 brought traffic to a
stand still.

It happened in the southbound
lane near the Dixie Caverns exit in
Roanoke County.

The accident involved seven cars
and a tractor trailer.

Both southbound lanes were closed
for a couple of hours, but have since
reopened.

VDOT says there's still some
congestion near Intestates 77 and 81 in
Wythe County.

It's 1982. Saddam visits the Shiite
village of Dujail...as he leaves,
gunmen open fire on his motorcade.

Saddam returns, and assures villagers
only the guilty will be punished.

But prosecutors say more than 1400
people were thrown in jail, and 140
villagers executed, under direct orders
of Saddam Hussein.

Although the former dictator faces
several more charges, prosecutors say
THIS is the one they can convict him
on, and they have the evidence to prove
it.

The question is - will enough defense
lawyers be there to argue it. Two
attorneys have been assassinated.
Yesterday, police uncovered a plot to
kill the JUDGE in the trial -- 8 men
are in custody.

WILL HAVE TO WAIT

Up to 35 of Saddam's accusers are
expected to testify -- most witnesses
will do it, hidden behind a screen --
their names withheld to protect them
from retribution.

Many say Saddam should be judged as HE
judged: swiftly, and with NO mercy.

They hope putting Saddam to death will
send a clear message to loyalists THEIR
fight is over.

But for other factions in this
insurgency, THEIR fight is against the
American presence. .... And toward
fueling potentially a MORE dangerous

Staff sergeants Courtney Reynolds
and Christopher Bowden exchanged vows
Friday -- via teleconference.

That's because the bride was in
Colorado, and the groom was in Qatar.

The ceremony was witnessed by
close friends and family.

The bride and groom each placed
rings on their own fingers.

The kiss will not officially be
sealed until they meet again, but the
couple does not know when that will
happen.
