taken their toll on much of Central and
Western Virginia, where schools closed
early and roads were washed out by high
water.

Rockbridge County officials have
declared a local emergency because of
flooding along the South River.

High water is also covering roads
in the Collierstown and Cornwall
sections of the county.

Officials are recommending
voluntary evacuations at this point.

About an hour ago, Governor
Mark Warner granted clemency to death
row inmate Robin Lovitt.

Lovitt's execution was scheduled
for tomorrow night.

man is now set to become the
one-thousandth person executed since
the death penalty was re-instated in

impounded a vehicle in connection with
the mysterious death of a Virginia Tech
student.

18 year old Brian McCloskey was
found unconscious on a bike path on
November 5th with severe head and body
injuries.

He died a week later.

Police are not sure what caused
McCloskey's injuries but they have not

That's exactly what happened
three-years ago in Virginia, as farmers

dealt with another deadly strain of
Bird Flu, one that devastated the
Shenandoah Valley's poultry industry.

only home to spiders. Grass is
knee-high on the outside, while cobwebs
and rusting equipment greet visitors on
the inside.



But, go back to May 2002 and this is
what Oakland Farms looked like. Hens

nesting and conveyor belts moving with
freshly laid eggs ... then one of the
birds tested positive for the flu.
That was enough to have the flock of
75-thousand birds destroyed.

two-million dollars, plus income their
birds would have brought in.



With losses like that still in mind,
the state's poultry industry is
following the developments across Asia
and Europe, with an eye to both their
own livelihood and concerns over a
spread to humans. But poultry growers
say there are big differences here that
make a spread less likely.

rage.

The incident allegedly happened
last Wednesday on interstate 485 in
Charlotte, North Carolina.

The 56 year old legend
surrendered this morning to Charlotte
police and says he will be exonerated.

The driver claimed that Flair
stepped out of his vehicle and grabbed
him, leaving two bruises on his neck.
Flair then reportedly kicked the door
of the man's S-U-V.

Flair is charged with misdemeanor
assault and battery, as well as injury
to personal property.
