store robbery surrendered to police
last night.

Crabtree of Bedford County showed up at
the Sheriff's office late last night on
charges he failed to appear in court.

He reportedly told deputies he robbed
the Stop-In Food Store on Forest Road
yesterday morning.

Crabtree was wearing the same clothes
he was wearing when a surveillance
camera captured his image in the store.

He was taken into police custody and
charged with robbery.

Crabtree told officers he held up
the store to get money for drugs.

team enters its second season in ACC
play hoping to

build off of last year's
experience...where they became the
cardiac kids of the conference.



In 2005 Half of the Hokies ACC losses
came by less than five points



Tech also played in 4 overtime
contests...losing three.



In her second season with the
Hokies...coach Beth Dunkenberger knows

her team must learn how to finish to be

successful.



Tech returns a seasoned team with five
seniors and four returning starters.

loss in Salem.

The Smithfield Packing company
has announced that it will be shutting
down its Salem plant.

The decision will mean a loss of
more than 200 jobs.

The plant will close at the end
of January.
