clear, but they warn us to watch out
for some isolated spots of snow, ice or
slush, especially overnight.
It's been a busy day for V-Dot
crews and state police.
Officials say slushy roads
contributed to several accidents today,
including one fatality in Franklin
County.
State police have NOT reported
any major accidents tonight.

morning in the New River Valley.

Most were single- vehicle
crashes.
One happened along I-81 on the
south-bound side near the
Christiansburg exit.
Police say the driver lost
control and crashed into a rock wall.
Officers are warning drivers in
the area to use caution if they need to
be on the roads tonight.

It was a long day for road crews
and emergency workers trying to handle
dozens of accidents on central Virginia
roads.
Slick conditions caused several
wrecks, including this two-car crash on
Timberlake Road this afternoon.
Another driver was injured when
their truck flipped on Route 460 near
Waterlick Road.
V-DOT crews started sanding many
of the secondary roads early in the
day.

identity of a skeleton found in a
farmer's field.

year old Ruben Fonseca in Montvale last
month.

badly decomposed body.
The Bedford County sheriff's

been depressed since his WIFE'S death

morning fire in Roanoke County will
resume tomorrow.

scene this morning trying to piece
together what happened before the snow
arrived.
Firefighters were first called to
a business in the 61-hundred block of
Airport Road- just after four o'clock

No one was injured, but the house

today as Sports Illustrated's Sportsman
of the Year. Brady led the Patriots to
three Super Bowl championships in four
years and was named MVP of the first
two victories.
This honor comes just a year after the
Boston Red Sox became the first major

basketball court they were very
similar. Both teams have first year
head coaches. Both teams have 1 win on
the season and both teams like to put

Looked like a shooting drill for
both teams in the first half, Ferrum's
Keith Harris getting into the act with
the three-pointer to give his team a 4
point lead.
Matt Murrer doing his part for
V-M-I on the night, he dials it up from
long distance as well. He led the
keydets in scoring with 18 points.
The Panthers top scorer was Rob
Fuller with 24. He made 5 of 8 shots
from behind the arc in a see-saw
battle.

pulled away, Travis Holmes the one out
in front of the fastbreak, with the

that it has sold out its ticket
allotment for the Gator Bowl. All 12
thousand 7 hundred and 50 tickets are
gone.
However, bowl orders were taken
weeks ago, and at that time no one was
thinking about a return trip to
Jacksonville.
The President of the Gator Bowl -
Rick Catlett - says he thinks the crowd
will be fine and that only about half
of Tech's potential traveling fan base
was in town this past Saturday for the
ACC championship.

In their four previous Gator Bowl

Catlett and the Gator Bowl folks

Hokies were simply too much of a known

Four-thousand Santas of all
shapes and sizes joined in a charity
run in Great Britain.
They wound their way around a
six-kilometer course.
The organizers hope the
sprinting santas will raise more than
150-thousand Euros, or about
175-thousand dollars, giving charities
an early Christmas present.
