attack.

It comes shortly after US Army Corporal
Jared Kubasak of Franklin County was
killed in a separate attack.

Calvary Regiment based in Fort Carson,
Colorado.

He was on his second tour of duty in
Iraq, when he was killed in an attack
either late Sunday night or early
Monday morning near Baghdad.

attack that injured a Lynchburg
firefighter and three- Roanoke police
officers this past weekend.

The men- who were a part of the
80th division, second brigade out of

Salem -were wounded, but none of them

After putting out the flames, Fletcher
says - the moved away from the vehicle.
Minutes later it exploded injuring
fellow Roanoke police officer, Kevin
Assenat who had been in another vehicle
in front of them.

a first team selection at one of the
cornerback spots.

Williams did not have the
greatest year from a statistical
standpoint, but a lot of that was due
to the fact that many teams went away
from him.

Virginia's D'Brickashaw Ferguson.

The Offensive tackle is also a
first team all-ACC selection and he is
along with Williams is projected to be
a first round draft pick in April.

The Hokies senior defensive end
Darryl Tapp earned second team honors.

All-America squads.

the year will pick up his trophy at the
Salem Civic Center.

be presented to Linfield College's
Brett Elliott.

He was in Salem last year leading
Linfield to the Stagg Bowl title.

He passed for over 4000 yards and
49 TDs in 11 games this season.

For his career he finished with
110 TD passes and 8 thousand, six
hundred and 14 yards.

The Salem Rotary Club hosts the
luncheon on Thursday.

you win, but shooting - especially jump
shots - has become a lost art.

The Dazzle for instance is
hitting just 43 percent of its shots so
far this year.

postives and negatives

This is the fourth year that Townsend
has worked for the N-B-D-L but only the
second season that he has had the
Computer software with him, The first

ago is now in the N-B-A

the information to the league's head
honchos who can then pass it along to
the N-B-A teams who are looking for
