Jared Kubasak KOO-buh-sak died Monday,
when an explosive device detonated near
his Bradley Fighting Vehicle during
patrol operations south of Baghdad.

High School in 1999.

Yesterday, the school honored him
with flags flown at half staff, and a
moment of silence.

Jim Worley was one of Kubasak's
teachers, though he was more than that,
too.

He was his Cub Scout leader,

recovering from a weekend suicide
bomber attack.

place Saturday when a suicide bomber
came out into traffic and blew himself
up.

Lynchburg firefighter Nathan
Chapman and Roanoke police officer
Shane Fletcher got out of the vehicle,
but went back to rescue fellow Roanoke
officer, Chris Dillion.

The vehicle exploded minutes
later.
