nine where votes will be counted
manually during tomorrow's recount in
the Attorney General's race.
Ink in some of the pens voters
used at Linkhorne Middle School didn't
register in the vote- tabulator machine
on election night.
The other eight precincts are in
Gloucester County.

electrical substation in Eastern
Franklin County has been postponed
indefinitely.

specific site of a connecting line.
As a result, Appalachian Power
says it needs more time to find a
better location.
This is the second bump in the

will challenge Rick Boucher for his 9th
district Congressional seat next year.
Carrico has been a member of the
Virginia General Assembly since 2002.
The Grayson County Republican
spent 15 years in the ranks of the

Though he's made no formal
announcement, Rick Boucher is expected
to run again.
The Democrat has been in office

redistricting and reclassification
moves for 2007 will have a big effect
on two area teams in particular.

Fleming will leave the Group Two A
ranks and return to Triple A in all
athletics as a member of the Western
Valley district.
This will give that district six
teams stretching from Roanoke to South
Boston.
Also, Alleghany will be leaving
the Blue Ridge and moving to the Valley
district.
The Mounties move into the Valley
South with Rockbridge.
The question now is will the
remaining Blue Ridge and River Ridge
form a 9 team super district or two
smaller leagues of four and five teams.

college athletic programs around the
nation were released today by the NCAA.
For the first time - these
numbers take into consideration
transfers students and do not penalize
schools when students leave.
The new numbers are supposed to
give a truer sense of what's taking
place and they show dramatic increases
in all sports at Tech and UVa.
For example, the football
graduation numbers went up by more than
10 points at both schools.

Surveillance Video In Michigan, a man attempted to
steal an ATM using a stolen tow truck.
The suspect backed the truck into
a building containing an ATM and towed
the machine out onto a busy road.
The truck stalled 40 yards away
and police captured the suspect after
he abandoned the vehicle.
