GRAPHIC=BAM Welcome everyone to your Monday

Ticker and for us and many of you it's
the Holiday Edition. The Virginia Tech
Women got a late Christmas present
today when they found out they had
cracked the Top 25 Associated Press
Poll. With the Hokies in the polls

that gives the A-C-C five ranked teams.
Three of those teams sport undefeated
records including Tech. But that
doesn't mean the Hokies are totally
happy with their play.

ANCHOR=GRANT Monday Night Football is as we know it.

The staple that has been on network TV
for 36 years will move to ESPN next
season. It started as the only
prime-time N-F-L game of every weekend
and gave us such characters as Howard
Cosell. Cosell probably wouldn't be to
enthralled with the final game which
features the 3 and 11 Jets hosting the
9 and 5 New England Patriots and they
have even banned alcohol from the game
in the Meadowlands.

Crews have been busy knocking
more of the old structure down at the
corner of Colonial and Brandon.

Almost all of the building is
gone now.

Crews are waiting for a crane to
take down the tower.

The building served as the main
studio of WDBJ-7 for more than 40
years, but has been vacant since the
station moved to the digital broadcast
center here on Hershberger Road.

Austrian officials removed Arnold
Schwarzenegger's name from a soccer
stadium late last night, complying with
the California governor's demand.
Schwarzenegger made the request a week
ago -- after local activists called for
the stadium to be renamed because of
his refusal to block the December 13th
execution of convicted killer Stanley
Tookie Williams.

Turning the tables on his
critics, the Governor ordered his name
removed and said he was returning a
ring of honor that Graz officials gave
him in 19-99.
