Christmas shooting which left
five-people dead at two-separate scenes
in Northern Virginia.

found three men and one woman dead in a
home in Great Falls yesterday morning
after responding to reports of gunfire.
They say one of the dead bodies
was the gunman's.
Investigators found evidence in
that home that led them to a second
home, this one in McLean.

woman, outside that home.

wanted for attempted murder and felony
hit and run is behind bars.

Police say 25-year-old Leiben
Patrick struck a 28-year-old female and
a three-year-old girl on Dean Drive.
It happened sometime Saturday
afternoon.
The child was airlifted to
Roanoke Memorial and is listed in
stable condition.
Police say more information will

of an accident in Hillsville.

TAKE VO State Police say the accident
happened on Route 221 early yesterday
morning.
The female driver of this SUV
slid on an icy patch of road in a turn,
and went off the road.
The car landed upside in a creek.
Officials say the woman was taken
to Wake Forest *Baptist Medical Center*
in Winston-Salem.
She's listed in critical
condition.

Stewartsville sent five people to the
hospital.

It happened shortly before four
o'clock Saturday afternoon in the
5-thousand block of Jordantown Road.
Officials say 26-year-old Billy
Evans crashed his truck head-on with a
car -- driven by a 15-year-old boy.
There were three passengers in
the truck, including a four-year-old
and an 18-month old.
The 18-month-old was airlifted to
Roanoke Memorial hospital.
The conditions of the kids are
unknown.

trying to figure out what caused a fire
that left one woman dead.

Fire investigators responded to
this house in the 6-thousand block of
Fox Trail early Saturday morning.
When firefighters arrived, flames
were pouring from the house and the
roof had partially collapsed.
One person was found dead inside
the house.
Officials aren't releasing the
victim's name until the family has
been notified.
The cause of the fire is still
under investigation.
Authorities do NOT suspect arson
or foul play.

tested for the first time this morning
in Sumatra.
Residents ran to higher ground
when the sirens- triggered by
earthquake sensor on the ocean floor
started the government-organized
exercise.

international communication lines.
But it could take two-years
before the system is fully operational.

Last week, construction crews
took down the canopy over the driveway
to give their equipment better access.
The building served as the main

center on Hershberger Road.

Last night in San Francisco,
Jewish leaders kicked off the
festivities by lighting a single candle
on a giant menorah.
Hanukkah, known as the Festival
of Lights, is celebrated for eight days
and eight nights. In Hebrew the
word Hanukkah means dedication.
The holiday commemorates the
re-dedication of the holy temple in
Jerusalem after the Jews 165 B.C.E.
victory over the Syrians.
This year the first night of
Hanukkah falls on Christmas Day. That's
only happened four times in the past
100 years.
