But some alleged thievery by a

VO-NAT Former major league pitcher Jeff

Reardon is behind bars awaiting a bond
hearing on robbery charges in Florida.

Police say the four time all-
star walked into a Palm Beach-Gardens
jewelry store yesterday, handed a note
to anemployee that said he was robbing
the store and was armed.

Reardon fled the store with an
undisclosed amount of cash.

Police found him at a nearby
restaurant, recovered the stolen money
and charged him with armed robbery.

Reardon had a three- point- one-
six E-R-A in 16 seasons with seven
different teams.

heading into their bowl game, but the
Hokies' Football team does have the
respect.

Frank Beamer has built his
program into one that is talked about
on a national scale.

And that's where Tech's opponent
in the Gator Bowl would like to be.

But in order for Louisville to
accomplish that, they must make their
way to the top of their own state.

Travis Wells has more on Cards'
Coach Bobby Petrino and his goal of
making it to the top.

where thousands flock each spring for
the annual Run for the Roses.

Freedom Hall, home to Rick
Pitino's Final Four basketball team
comes in a close second.

But these days Bobby Petrino is
enticing the masses to Papa John
Stadium to watch his Louisville

football team.

The Cards are making their 8th
straight bowl appearance, their third
in a row under Petrino. It's a team
starting to garner national attention,
and one that is still learning to play
against the college big boys--a group
that Petrino feels the Hokies
definitely belong to.

BOBBY PETRINO/LOUISVILLE HEAD COACH:

EDDIE ROYAL/HOKIES WIDE RECEIVER:

Building a program is one thing,
but dealing with the heightened
expectations is something else
entirely. Just ask Frank Beamer, whose
fan base includes some who are
disappointed with a 10 and 2 season.

FRANK BEAMER/HOKIES HEAD COACH:

The Hokies are 7 and a half
point favorites in the Gator Bowl.
