Officers are investigating a
shooting and two bank robberies.

o'clock 25-year-old Leman Ransome of
Roanoke was shot at The Clean Machine
car wash on the corner of 35th Street
and Melrose Avenue.
Police say Ransome was shot twice
before a suspect in a blue car left the
scene.
Witnesses say they heard yelling
before the incident.

-police answered another call- this one
for a bank robbery at the Suntrust on
Hershberger Road.
A teller said a light-skinned
African-American male in his 30's came
through the drive through- started a
transaction and then demanded money.
He left with an unknown amount of
cash.

Investigators say it sounds like
the same man who held up another
Suntrust Bank, this one on Williamson
Road last night around 5:30.
They say the suspect was driving

three-month-old boy at his home.
The sheriff's department says the
baby's mother called the rescue squad
just after midnight.
Paramedics tried to revive the
