at Virginia Tech is over.
This evening University President
Charles Steger announced that the
all-ACC quarterback has been

Mike I think most people felt Vick
would only be suspended a game or so.
MIKE ON CAM MIKE ON CAM
GRAPHIC=NONE Jean, when Tech announced this
afternoon that President Steger, Jim
Weaver and Frank Beamer were holding a
newsconference tomorrow - a suspension
was on the way.
But at just about the same time
that fax was sent out, word surfaced on
the state's General District Court
website that Vick had been issued two
traffic summons on Saturday, December
17th - one for speeding and one for
driving with a suspended license.
To some it may seem minor, but
for Vick - It was the last straw. And
just a minute or two before five
tonight, the announcement came that
Vick was finished as a Hokie.
This afternoon Frank Beamer flew
to the Tidewater area and met with the
Vicks.
He then had to appear at a
fundraiser at Hampton high school
tonight.
And he stopped briefly on his way
inside the school to offer these
thoughts on Vick's departure.
