(END SOT) U-V-A and Virginia Tech met on the
basketball court. Roanoke native J.R.
Reynolds proved to feel right at home
in the first half scoring 12 points in
the first 20 minutes.
Tech stayed close thanks to their
defense. Zabian Dowdell had 5 steals
in the first half, 1 of them translated
into a Jamon Gordon 3-pointer the
Hokies were down 2 at Halftime.
In the second half things got
interesting, Coleman Collins with the
apparent dunk, but the ball came out of
the basket, refs ruled it no good and
Seth Greenberg got T'ed up to boot.
(COLEMAN BITE:)
The hokies though seemed to
respond, they went on a 12-0 run that
included this lay-up by collins that
did go all the way through the hoop.
Reynolds may have been the man
for the Wahoos in the first half, but
late in the second half, Sean
Singletary took over, he scored 10
straight points for Virginia and the
game was tied at 49.
(SINGLETARY BITE:)
(GREENBERG BITE:)
With under a minute to play the
Cavaliers had the ball and the hero on
this day would be Adrian Joseph who
drained the 3-pointer from the corner
to give U-V-A a 3-point lead.
Tech had a couple chances to tie,
but couldn't find the bottom of the net
and Virginia wins 54 to 49 over their
instate rivals.

He was frustrated as the Noke
built on a 12 point lead. Keith Carter
deals to Curtis Peery for two in the

Patrick Prior puts it on the floor and
gets to the rack for the hoop and the
hack. But Roanoke had too much down
the stretch.

Fox Sports On just the second play from
:00 scrimmage, Jake Delhomme found the All

Smith put on a move and scooted to the

Smith added this 39 yard
reception for a score in the second
half that gave Carolina a 23-14 lead.
Smith tallied 12 catches for 218 yards.
Rex Grossman led the Bears on
