stands at 8 to 3 with U-V-A leading
Virginia Tech. That thanks to the
basketball sweep by the Cavaliers the
past 2 nights in Blacksburg. Debbie
Ryan's club got an easy victory over
the Hokies thanks in large part to
their defense that held Tech to 34
percent shooting and forced 14
turnovers in the first half.

Seattle Seahawks starting right
tackle Sean Locklear has been released
without bail after appearing in court
in a domestic violence assault
investigation

The former NC State star was not
charged at the hearing, but a judge
ordered the him to stay away from his
girlfriend and stay away from alcohol
and other drugs while the case is
pending.

A police report says
Locklear was shooting pool

when the player grew angry because the
girlfriend was dancing with another
man. As they left and walked down the
sidewalk, police say Locklear grabbed
the woman by the neck.

Seattle hosts Carolina Sunday
night in the NFC title game.

LOCATOR: LONDON

And they're off .. On one BIG road
trip.

NATPOP: CHEERING

John Taylor and his wife Helen are
embarking on a JOURNEY that will take

them 18,000 miles across 25 countries
in 70 days.

The CHALLENGE.. to go around the world
in 50 tanks -- all the gas

they'll get as part of a Guinness world
record attempt.

They're using a special energy
efficient fuel, and they'll probably

try

to coast on fumes for as long as
possible.

But John has pinched a penny or two in
his time.

SOT - JOHN TAYLOR/WORLD RECORD SEEKER

"I SAVE 15 TO 20 PERCENT, FUEL, MONEY
EVERY WEEK, PURELY AND SIMPLY BY

USING A FEW SIMPLE TIPS."

Like keeping junk out of the trunk, he
says, and avoiding rush hour

trafficSO what does Mr Wonderful do
with the extra dough?

SOT - JOHN TAYLOR - I LOVE MY WIFE...SO

I GIVE THAT MONEY TO MY WIFE.

SHE GIVES IT TO THE KIDS AND AND THE
KIDS GO OUT AND WASTE IT.

(ON CAMERA BRIDGE) CHARLIE
D'AGATA/LONDON

IF ALL GOES AS PLANNED, THE COUPLE WILL
ARRIVE RIGHT BACK HERE IN

CENTRAL LONDON TEN WEEKS FROM NOW.
BUT THE BIG QUESTION IS...SUCH A

GRUELING JOURNEY, DAY AFTER DAY, ALL

THAT WEAR AND TEAR........ WILL THE

-- MARRIAGE -- MAKE IT?

(backtimed sky interview)

At the live televised launch, even
before mile one, a BIT of bickering

had already begun.

(INTERRUPTS WIFE)

SOT - JOHN TAYLOR - "(interrupts wife)

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. SORRY

TO BE RUDE, BUT I THINK WE'RE GOING TO
DO IT ON LESS THAN 50 TANKS."

PRESENTER: I'D LOVE TO BE A FLY ON THE
WALL AS YOU ARGUE DURING THE

DRIVE.

Nah, not them...Helen says it'll be
like a second honeymoon. And John

says they'll have time to "catch up"
and perhaps listen to a smattering

of Barbra Streisand.

.........Well, good luck with that.
We'll see you back here in late

March! Breakdowns of all manner,
pending.
