o'clock yesterday in the 400 block of
Church Street in Clifton Forge.

When firefighters arrived, one home
was fully involved and the fire was
about to spread to the house next door.

this street are so close together
they're lucky the whole block didn't go
up in flames.

It would eventually take firefighters

from five different companies more than
a hour to get the blaze under control.

Investigators believe the house
caught fire when someone was refilling
a kerosene heater.

rejected Clarence Ray Allen's last
appeal, clearing the way for him to die
by lethal injection.

killed in an accident over the weekend.

They say 23 year-old Donato

Rosas-Lopez died at the scene of the
accident on Orange Avenue in northeast
Roanoke.

According to police, Lopez was
the passenger in the Honda Accord that
hit an Explorer attempting to turn onto
11th street around two o'clock Sunday
morning.

The Explorer then hit a third
car.

All the occupants of that car
fled.

Police say 25 year-old Lazaro
Santiago-Garcia was DRIVING the Honda
and he is listed in critical condition.

38-year old Nicolas Pena-Velerio
was driving the Explorer.

He was treated and released.

Sunday night killed a teenage girl and
injured another.

the Pittsylvania County line.

State police say 15-year-old
Saige Bowman of Bassett died at the
scene after the car she was riding in
hit another vehicle.

Martin Luther King pedestrian bridge to
First Baptist Church across from the
Hotel Roanoke.

Organizers say it was King's work
that allowed them the freedom to be
able to hold the march.

The event ended with a service at
the church, which focused on the
accomplishments of young people in
Roanoke.

in Lynchburg yesterday for a march to

honor Dr. King there, too.

The group walked a few blocks up
Fifth Street, which City Council
redesignated as Martin Luther King
Boulevard last year.

It was the first street in
Lynchburg to be named after a minority.
