Well, that shouldn't be a problem
anymore near Valley View Mall,
especially on weekends.

patrols in the mall area.

This is all in response to a large
fight near Wal-mart two weeks ago
involving nearly fifty kids.

So Police are about to get tough on
teens.

Officers have found teens like to

gather at the movie theater after the
mall closes.

In response, Valley View Grande hired
off duty police officers to keep the
peace.

But here's the problem, the teens are
gathering at other nearby businesses.

So Roanoke Police plan to have more
officers patrolling the area, not just
at the movie theater.

Police also have a message for
parents, they will be called to the
scene if any underage children are
found creating trouble.

Roanoke murder earlier this week.

VO-NAT On Tuesday, police found 44 year old

Donald Seis dead in his Old Southwest

Apartment.

An autopsy now shows he died of blunt
trauma.

We've also learned police may be
zeroing in on a suspect.

According to a search warrant, Seis
had an on-going dispute with a woman.

When police when to interview that
woman at her sister's home, an officer
saw what appeared to be dried blood on
a door.

Police later returned with a search
warrant for the home which is about a
quarter a mile away from the murder
scene.

kidnapped American journalist in
Baghdad, but there is still no word on
her fate.

specialists on U-S hostage situations
has been following several leads in the

search for Jill Carroll.

The specialists have been meeting
with prominent Iraqis, particularly
Sunni Arabs who may know the
kidnappers.

Carroll's kidnappers have
threatened to kill her unless U-S
forces free all Iraqi women in military
custody.

Her father made an appeal on Arab
T-V today, saying his daughter is an
innocent woman.

in the state senate today would place
sales- tax on gas and increase the
motor vehicle sales tax by two-
percent.

That would mean the additional
tax paid for a 25- thousand dollar car
would be 500- dollars.

Governor Tim Kaine also released
his transportation plan today.

His would punish bad drivers who
tend to cause congestion.

A violation like reckless driving
would carry an abuser fine of more than
one- thousand dollars.

criminal case against former pain
doctor Cecil Knox came to a close.

Today Dr. Knox was placed on
probation.

go as he emerged from the federal
courthouse.

No house arrest. No prison time. No

more criminal proceedings ahead of him.

Cecil Knox will pay the government
$5,000 in restitution. He'll be on
probation for five years. And he
surrended his medical license.

CECIL KNOX IS NO LONGER A DOCTOR.

DR. CECIL KNOX: THEY HAVEN'T STOPPED ME

There were some anxious moments for
Knox and his defense team.

Going in, they thought the worst he
could get was one year under house
arrest. Then, the prosecutor asked the
court for a 12-month jail term. The
judge gave him probation.

2003 and drove two hours to Abingdon
this time to show his continuing
support for Knox.

are wondering what was PREVENTED by a
traffic stop in Narrows last night.

After K-9 Officer S. Dunn stopped a
van for speeding on Route 460, his dog
"alerted" on the vehicle.

VO-NAT Inside the van, Dunn says, he found

a variety of narcotics, two assault
rifles -- one with laser sights,
several other guns and about 15-hundred
rounds of ammunition.

Suspects Jackson Decker and Damien
Weisgerber WISE-gur-bur are facing
numerous drug and firearms charges.
Both men are from Portland, Oregon.

Investigators have labled the
fire that burned two men this afternoon
accidental.

The blaze broke out around 2
o'clock in the basement of a home on
Thomason Road in the Garden City
section of Roanoke.

Firefighters say two men were
working on the propane furnace in the
basement at the time of the fire.

There is still no word on the
condition of the two men who were taken
to the hospital.

animal cruelty will have to give up
some of his horses.

Today, 79 year old Jack Cassell
ka-SELL was in court facing dozens of
charges.

In December, Botetourt officials
took five of his 28 horses saying they
were malnourished.

Today after three hours of
testimony, Cassell reached an
agreement with prosecutors.

He was found guilty of two counts
of animal cruelty.

getting a second wave of updates to the
race track and drag way

During this off season...public
water and sewer were added for more
restrooms, showers and concessions.

There are now also new parking
lots and a new exit road.

Drivers say the best improvement
is the newly resurfaced track that
promises faster races and better grip.

This year's racing season kicks
off April eighth.

bottle nose.

Whales rarely swim in the nearby
