after a fire in Lynchburg tonight.

Firefighters were called to this
home at 1801 Floyd Street around ten.
Fire was coming from the back of
the two-story home, and neighbors were
telling authorities people were trapped
inside.
One man was rescued from the
burning home and has been flown to the
U-V-A Medical Center.
The deceased victim was found in a
back room on the first floor.
Their names have not been
released.
Fire crews are still on the scene
... no word yet on the cause.

and her brother, Travis, to play
outside, but what's not typical is
someone trying to take Kayla. And
that's what both Kayla and an
eyewitness say happened Monday
afternoon.
Kayla says she was playing
down the street from her house, near
the train tracks when a man in a pickup
truck approached her, motioning her to
get into the truck.

she claims tried to lure Kayla did stop
by the house, he said he saw her crying
and was trying to find out what was

Kayla's mom told us four police
cruisers were out in front of the house
and did go looking for the man. We did
speak with a spokesperson for the
Police Department and she's still
trying to track down more information
on this story, so again, no concrete

calling a missing person's case
suspicious.

was last seen at her Collinsville home
January Second -- although her family
didn't report her missing until 10-days
later.

Some Supervisors put forth alternate

recommend the fat blocking drug Xenical
be sold over the counter.
The drug's maker told the panel
the drug is no magic pill and it must
be combined with diet and exercise to
work.
But one public citizens's group
urged the panel to reject the company's
request saying the drug's long term
affects are not known. Xenical
prevents the body from absorbing some
vitamins.
The over the counter version
would contain half the dose of the
prescription and it would be renamed

That's how the chase for three
bank robbery suspects ended in Campbell
County today.

Around 12:30, a man robbed the Sun
Trust bank on Timberlake Road and left
in a green Nissan pickup.
Police found the truck later at
this home on Turkey Foot Road, but a
neighbor said the two men inside had
left in a white van.
A deputy stopped the van a short
while later, but at the time they
didn't have enough evidence to keep the
suspects under arrest.

three men with the bank robbery:
Randall Scott Mason and Jeffrey
McCormick of Evington and David Frank
Sprinkle of Lynchburg.
McCormick and Sprinkle were

MANDATORY TRACKING DEVICES AND

Senator Ed Houck Howk introduced
the bill after several Virginians, like
Dorothy Sullivan, were killed or
seriously injured by dogs last year.
Sullivan was standing in front of
her Spotsylvania County home with her
dog Buttons when the two were mauled by
three pit bulls. sullivan died.

human would face up to ten years in
prison and a 25- hundred dollar fine.

because of academics. McCray is a

accolades. J.J. Redick who was named
A-C-C player of the week for his

A lower court ruled Reasearch in
Motion infringed on the patents held by
a U-S company.
A Richmond trial judge could
impose an injunction against Research
