seriously hurt. Police tell us when the
gunfire erupted, a woman, standing in a
parking lot across the street, was hit
in the leg with something. They're not
sure what hit her but it was a very
minor injury.

Police got the call just after
7:30....When they arrived, witnesses
reported hearing the gunfire and seeing
a few men shooting at each other and
then running west on Orange Avenue.
Police say it was not an attempted
robbery, in fact, the shooting had
nothing to do with the B-P that sits on
the corner of Orange and 11th street.
The fight broke out in the parking
lot..... you can see the bullet
casings outlined on the cement, police
searching for additional clues...
Police not sure what the motive behind
the gunfire is...and They're also not
sure how many people they're looking
for or the descriptions of those
individuals.

little girl who said a man tried to
lure her into his truck.

Yesterday 8-year-old Kayla Carter was playing
down the street form her home in
Southeast Roanoke Monday afternoon.
Both Kayla and a woman who witnessed
the incident, said the man got out of
his truck and motioned for Kayla to get
in.
The man told police he was just
concerned for Kayla because she
appeared to be upset. After
investigating the case, police believe
the man- They've chalked it up as a
miscommunication.

on the front left side.
A 2006 Ford Excursion was taken

The dealership says it had been

remains of a missing woman.

more than three weeks ago.

Authorities have not named any
suspects, but hope to further question
Wingfield's brother, who is in the
hospital after drinking some type of
toxic liquid.
If the remains are confirmed to
be Wingfield's, this will be the second
murder in her family.
Her son was shot and killed
several years ago in Henry County.

to advance Alito to the full senate for
confirmation.
Despite the favorable outcome
for the conservative nominee, the
voting remained divided along party
lines, with not one Democrat voting in
Judge Alito's favor.

century of record keeping.
A NASA official says 2005 produced
the highest annual average surface
