again.

VO-NAT A club official says 40-year-old
Lemieux will announce his retirement at
an afternoon news conference.
Lemieux has seen limited playing
time this season, and is being treated
for an irregular heartbeat.
He attempted to return to the ice
a week after being hospitalized with
the problem, but it flared up again
during a December 16th game.
He hasn't played since.
This will be the second
retirement for the Hall of Famer, who
won a number of Stanley Cups and
scoring titles, and battled through
cancer and heart problems in a
comeback.
Lemieux leaves the game as the
N-H-L's seventh -leading career scorer
with one- thousand, 723 points.
