A large crane hoisted eight heavy
columns into place at the site of the
English "folly" near the north end of
the memorial.
The gazebo-like building
eventually will house a statue of
General Eisenhower. Busts of his six
lieutenants will line the nearby
pathways.
The crew that's building "the
folly" is from the same firm that
erected the Overlord Arch several years
ago.
