still looking into whether it was the

non-issue if the fight hadn't happened
in the first place.

inside his home early this morning.

Officers discovered the body of a
35 year-old man in a house in the
700-block of Chatham Avenue around five
o'clock.

The body will be sent to the
medical examiner's office for an
autopsy.

The identity of the man has not
been released.

hospital.

Police say a tractor trailer
drifted into the left lane, and hit a
pickup truck -- which then caused the
pick-up to spin into a guardrail.

All five of the truck's

passengers were taken to the hospital
with minor injuries.

Police charged the driver of the
tractor trailer with reckless driving
and failure to maintain control.

Traffic was backed up for about
FOUR miles as officials cleared the
scene.

contributing to a delinquency of a
minor, and two other sexually related
charges.

The initial reports were that they hit
an improvised explosive device, and
then that was followed up by small arms
fire. This is very common over there
now.



SO COMMON THAT IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE
DEVICES ARE BLAMED FOR KILLING TWO OUT
OF EVERY THREE AMERICAN SOLDIERS WHO VE
DIED IN COMBAT IN IRAQ. WOODRUFF AND
VOGT WERE EMBEDDED WITH THE ARMY S 4TH

vehicle. Both had on helmets and body

for journalists to work.

The new trial judge heard three

miners trapped underground by a fire
are all safe and accounted for.

Fire broke out Sunday in a mine
in Saskatchewan,

forcing the miners to retreat to
emergency refuge rooms stocked

with oxygen and supplies.

A spokesman says a rescue team
reached one of the rooms.

The rescuers made sure everyone
was safe, then closed them back inside
until the air inside the mine can be
cleared of toxic gases.

Officials believe they've found
the source of the smoke

and are working on putting out the
fire.

tree branch to pull a bag out of the
lake.

Inside was a two-month-old girl.

The baby girl has been released
from the hospital and is in good
condition.

Authorities have arrested the
baby's mother.

Brazilian T-V reports she denies
throwing the girl into the lake.

Instead, she says she gave the
baby to a group of homeless people --
because she didn't have enough money to
raise her.

collapsed roof.

a woman for murdering her three
children.

her eight year-old daughter and her
six-year-old twin boys in

their De Queen (DEE'-kween) home.

Officers were sent to the home
after the father called authorities
from New York saying his wife had
confessed to the killings.

Police say Mendez collapsed when
officers arrived and was taken to a
hospital for treatment after ingesting
a toxic substance.

Police did find a note in the
home which may disclose a motive but
they wouldn't elaborate.
