DEMOCRATS ALIKE, AS HE ENTERED THE
HOUSE CHAMBER. BUT AMID THE APPLAUSE,

REMAINS A GREAT POLITICAL DIVIDE.
TONIGHT, THE PRESIDENT TRIED TO BRING
BOTH SIDES TOGETHER.

PRESIDENT BUSH:

"To confront the great issues before
us, we must act in a spirit of good
will and respect for one another -- and
I will do my part. Tonight, the state
of our Union is strong -- and together
we will make it stronger."

IN HIS STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS,
PRESIDENT BUSH ENCOURAGED BOLD
LEADERSHIP IN THE FIGHT

AGAINST TERRORISM BY SPREADING
DEMOCRACY AROUND THE WORLD.

(SOT: PRESIDENT BUSH)

"Democracies replace resentment with
hope, respect the rights of their
citizens and their neighbors, and join
the fight against terror. Every step
toward freedom in the world makes our
country safer, and so we will act
boldly in freedom's cause."

MR. BUSH CITED AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ AS
PLACES WHERE PROGRESS IS BEING MADE.

HE SAID IT WAS TOO EARLY TO WITHDRAW

U.S. TROOPS.

(SOT: BUSH)

"A sudden withdrawal of our forces from
Iraq would abandon our Iraqi allies to
death and prison ...."

PRESIDENT BUSH ALSO BACKED GLOBAL
MARKETS, PROPOSED TRAINING 70-THOUSAND
MATH AND SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS,
AND PUSHED FOR CHANGES TO MAKE HEALTH
CARE MORE AFFORDABLE..

MEG OLIVER/CBS NEWS: TONIGHT, IN

people, even on our road, if someone

As sayers wears his uniform with pride

courageous effort is the one his

told him her husband was inside and was
paralyzed and couldn't get out, he told
her he would try to get her husband out

With no access, Joel promised her
husband he'd come back. And Joel did
come back, with an axe, to chop through
the roof to save the man. That act
alone, initiated every helicopter to
carry an ax, saving even more lives.

FSN Seth Greenberg was again :00 shorthanded tonight although he had
Deron Washington back in the starting
lineup after his one game suspension.

He also had the legendary Lefty
Driesell in the house watching from the
stands at the Cassell.

Washington got the Hokies off to
a good start, but Georgia tech came
from 10 down to lead by five at the
halftime break.

In the second half the Hokies got
another double digit lead, but the
Yellow Jackets again came back and
appeared to win it as time ticked down.

Jermemis Smith tips in the miss
with a half second to go, but the ref
ruled that he fouled Washington who was
blocking out underneath by going over
his back. *CG final Georgia Tech The basket was waved off and Washington 62 went to the other end an hit a free Virginia Tech throw to give the Hokies the 63-to-62 63 win.

Titans vs Knights Tonight there were no
interruptions as the Knights' Coaching
staff struck the intense pose in a back
and forth battle.

Pick it up in the fourth quarter
and Titan Senior Brian Bush with the
bucket to put Hidden Valley up by 2.

Cave Spring would take the lead
as David Redick finds John Michael
Bohon on the nice back-door cut. 2
Hidden Valley Free throws tied it up
and we go to overtime at 50 all.

In the Extra Session. Sam Cole
with the drive, he goes glass to put

the Knights up 2.

With the game tied at 52. Josiah
Goins with the steal, he would miss the
lay-up, but T.C. Bane with the rebound
and stick-back, tack on the foul.

*CG final Cave Spring Cave would have one last shot but 52 Stephen Nowlin was a bit too strong and Hidden Valley Hidden Valley wins 55 to 52 in 55 Overtime.

Titans vs Knights The Gym was packed from the
get-go over at Hidden Valley this
evening. The Girls playing the first
game of the double Header.

The Titans would be in control of
the game throughout. Abby Redick would
drain the 3-pointer to extend the lead
to 17.

Hidden Valley has more than one
Abby. This time it's Abby Boggs inside
as she scores and leads the Titans in
scoring with 13 points.
*CG final Cave Spring Cave would try and stay close in 23 this one. Jaci Clark with the basket Hidden Valley inside but not nearly enough. Hidden 49 Valley wins 49 to 23.

Floyd Co. vs.Glenvar The Lady Buffs hit the floor :00 ranked number one in the state in Group
A with an 18 and 0 mark.

And Floyd would waste absolutely
no time as Alan Cantrell's girls came
out and opened the game by hitting
three straight three pointers. Lindsey
Thompson gets this one to drop from the
top of the key.

Glenvar had to deal with the
Floyd press all night and Megan Weeks
breaks it this time with the long pass
to Oliva Scott for the layin.

But Floyd just has a lot of
weapons. Adrienne Womack goes hard to
the hoop off the dribble drive and power *CG final Floyd Co. in this bucket for the visitors.

Watching the cat sway back and
forth...clinging on for dear life....

Lynn Jennings tells us Crazy ran up
the tree near Gus Nicks Boulevard
Sunday.

At first, Lynn gave the cat time to
find its way to safety but when the cat
cried to her, she realized it was
probably too scared and she needed to
call for help.

Lynn tells us she contacted fire
companies, the SPCA but no one would
help. That is until Asphlundh Tree
Company heard about Crazy.

The rescue wasn't easy, in fact, it
was very nerve racking!!!!

Crazy went up the tree......down
the tree.......... even leaped over to
a different tree.

Finally, success.....

Crazy is now at the Roanoke Valley
SPCA. (END VO) (END VO)
