GRAPHIC=Super Bowl XL The Pittsburg Steelers are Super

Bowl Champs for the fifth time after
beating the Seattle Seahawks 21-to-10.

Last night the hometown
celebration almost got out of hand as
thousands of fans filled the streets.

But there were no major
incidents.

CBS News Correspondent Cynthia
Bowers has a recap of the game.

(END SOT) If Motown were going to host a Super

Bowl.. It might as well have been a
game filled with records. LIKE THIS
RECORD-SETTING 75 yard touchdown run by
Willie Parker sent the Steelers on the
way to a record-TYING fifth Super Bowl
win. Seattle had come back to within 4
points before Pittsburgh sealed the
game with a trick play, ANOTHER
superbowl first.. A touchdown pass from
a receiver Antwan Randel El.. To
another receiver.. Hines Ward... One of

five big catches that made HIM the
game's most valuable player.

(Sot/Hines Ward Pittsburgh Wide
Receiver 03:05:26) "IT'S A TRULY BIG
HONOR TO WIN THE MVP OF A SUPER BOWL.
//(03:0709) I'M AT A LOSS FOR WORDS. //
HERE I AM PLAYING THE SUPER BOWL! SOME
OF THE GREATEST PLAYERS IN THE GAME
NEVER GET THIS OPPORTUNITY."

Or a storybook ending to their careers.
Like longtime Pittsburgh running back
Jerome Bettis - a player called the
Bus, making what he says will be his
last stop- in his hometown in front of
family and friends.

For Bill Cowher, it was a night of
validation. After 14 years finally a
title for the Steelers' head coach.

(Sot/Bill Cowher Coach Pittsburgh
Steelers 31246) "THERES A LOT OF PEOPLE
TELL YOU YOU CAN'T DO IT, BUT YOU KNOW
WHAT, IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU DON'T GO TRY
AND YOU KNOW LIKE I SAID, HISTORY WAS
NOT GOING TO DETERMINE OUR FATE BUT OUR
EFFORT TODAY MADE HISTORY."

(stand up 32814) The Steelers made
history in a Super Bowl that bore the
name XL but won't go down as the
biggest, or the best, but it does
somehow seem fitting that after so much
was made of the game being played in
Detroit, a working class city that it
was won by the blue collar team.
