Breaking news tonight:
A newly-filed criminal complaint
implicates an Ohio man in a heroin
overdose last week in Roanoke that came
close to being fatal.
The federal court record does not name
the overdose victim, only that he lived
in southwest Roanoke, had a past heroin
addiction, and had no pulse when rescue
personnel arrived.
Gilbert Hadden of Toledo, Ohio has
been charged with distributing heroin
from a Roanoke boarding house.

lockdown for ninety minutes this
afternoon after seven small-caliber
bullets were found..

The ammunition was discovered on
the floor in a common area of the "A"
building section of Liberty High School
around 1:30.
Officials immediately ordered the
school to be locked down while deputies
and dogs searched the area for more
ammunition or weapons.
Nothing was found, and students
were released at their normal time at
three this afternoon.
A spokesman says a student who
hunts may have had the ammunition in a
coat pocket and it slipped out.

their home today in a devastating fire.
