10 KMC 11-COunty Schools 1 vo Education 7 Ani e26 -- *CG locator Roanoke Co.

Last night, the school board
corrected a wrong by including all high
schools.

The policy is similar to what seniors
now experience.

If any high school student has an A or
B average and 95-percent attendance,
they can be exempted from second
semester exams.

Cave Spring and Hidden Valley were
originally left out, because the two
school board members from those areas
had concerns.

They still do, but wanted to make the
policy fair for everyone.

HIDDEN VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL IF YOU HAD A
94 AND DIDN'T DO AS WELL YOU CAN END UP
WITH A GRADE LOWER THAN AN A. SO WHAT

THIS DOES IS PUT EVERYONE ON A LEVEL

The policy is similar to what seniors

GRAPHIC=SCAM ALERT 7 Animation Today in your Scam Alert 7 Report - Tis

the season for tax scams. Last week I
told you about advanced refund loans.
This week it's good old fashion
Phishing. Vondalear Hubbard, -A viewer

in the New River Valley - received a
call the other day from a person
claiming to be with the IRS. The
caller said they had a refund in the
amount of twelve thousand five hundred
dollars just because Ms. Hubbard was a
faithful tax payer. Of course in order
to get the refund the she had to give
up her bank account and routing number.
While I know its a nice thought- the
IRS isn't handing out money just
because you have faithfully paid your
taxes- they aren't calling you asking
for your bank account number either.
This is just one variation of a number
of scams that are sure to come out
using your desire to receive a refund
as the hook. Don't take the bait.

is filled to the brim with felines.

Right now they are trying to find
homes for about 40 cats.

If they are not adopted soon, the
cats will have to be euthanized to make
room for more.

Executive Director Rebecca
English says as spring approaches the
humane society will get more and more
cats.
