GRAPHIC=none An Ohio man has been charged with

supplying the heroin that put W-S-L-S
meteorologist Marc Lamarre in the
hospital last week.

VO-NAT Salem Attorney Greg Phillips

confirmed for News 7 last night that
his client, Gilbert Dennis Hadden, is
accused of providing the drugs that
almost killed Lamarre.

Channel 10 said earlier this week
that Lamarre is no longer with the
station.

And last night his former employer
said "Rumors of Marc's death are
untrue." His current condition is not
known.

Hadden was arrested Friday, the
day after Lamarre was found in a
southwest Roanoke apartment
unresponsive and without a pulse.

filed Sunday.

It does not name Lamarre.

But it says when Roanoke rescue
workers arrived, "The victim had been
immersed in cold water and C-P-R was
being conducted."

Though he had no pulse, the document
says the E-M-S crew was able to
resuscitate him, and took him to the
hospital.

Martinsville and Henry County over the
city's future is heating up.

Last night, Martinsville
officials attacked a county study that
said reversion would cost the county
too much money.

Martinsville called the study deeply
flawed.

City officials say the
county incorrectly assumed reversion
would create the need for a new,
expensive jail-- even though existing
jails in Martinsville could still be
used.

The study also failed to
account for state incentives Henry
County would be eligible for, if
Martinsville becomes a town.

Finally, city leaders say
they're skeptical about Henry County's
assertion that all city schools will be

closed if reversion occurs.

school yesterday after the discovery of
some bullets in a common area of the
building.

Liberty High School around 1:30.

Officials locked down the building
for ninety minutes while deputies and

supplying the heroin that put W-S-L-S
meteorologist Marc Lamarre in the
hospital last week.

VO-NAT Salem Attorney Greg Phillips

confirmed for News 7 last night that
his client, Gilbert Dennis Hadden, is
accused of providing the drugs that
almost killed Lamarre.

Channel 10 said earlier this week
that Lamarre is no longer with the
station.

And last night his former employer
said "Rumors of Marc's death are
untrue." His current condition is not
known.

Hadden was arrested Friday, the
day after Lamarre was found in a
southwest Roanoke apartment
unresponsive and without a pulse.

filed Sunday.

It does not name Lamarre.

But it says when Roanoke rescue
workers arrived, "The victim had been

resuscitate him, and took him to the
hospital.

April 1999 Otherwise known as Raymond Kanupp, he
was released from a prison in Kentucky
in late 2001, where he was serving 3
years for tyring to solicit sex from a
young girl on the internet. Canupp
believed he was talking to a
13-year-old, but really it was an
investigator with the Task Force. When
Canupp was arrested, Bedford County
Sheriff Mike Brown tells us duct tape
and part of an axe were found in his
truck. Brown and others believe Canupp
had every intention of killing the girl
he thought he was meeting. Dr. Evil is
back on the streets and his sentence of
3 years, is too short for Sheriff
Brown.

supplying the heroin that put W-S-L-S
meteorologist Marc Lamarre in the
hospital last week.

VO-NAT Salem Attorney Greg Phillips

confirmed for News 7 last night that
his client, Gilbert Dennis Hadden, is
accused of providing the drugs that
almost killed Lamarre.

Channel 10 said earlier this week
that Lamarre is no longer with the
station.

And last night his former employer
said "Rumors of Marc's death are
untrue." His current condition is not
known.

Hadden was arrested Friday, the
day after Lamarre was found in a
southwest Roanoke apartment
unresponsive and without a pulse.

It does not name Lamarre.

investigating a shooting that left one
man injured.

They say a 22 year old man
reported that he was shot in the leg
while walking on a footpath between

Martinsville and Henry County over the
city's future is heating up.

Last night, Martinsville
officials attacked a county study that
said reversion would cost the county
too much money.

Martinsville called the study deeply
flawed.

City officials say the
county incorrectly assumed reversion
would create the need for a new,
expensive jail, even though existing
jails in Martinsville could still be
used.

The study also failed to

Finally, city leaders say
they're skeptical about Henry County's
assertion that all city schools will be
closed if reversion occurs.

small-caliber bullets led to the
lockdown of a Bedford County high
school yesterday afternoon.

Officials say the .22-caliber
bullets were found on the floor in a
